[:en]Thoughts from “Our Daily Bread” (8/5/18)[:]

[:en]In Brazilian City, there is  a 22,310-foot-high mountain called Corcovado .  There stood a 100-foot-tall sculpture called Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer).   With arms spread wide, this massive figure is visible day and night from almost anywhere in the sprawling city.

Today, the real Jesus sees us.  “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are attentive to their cry: (Ps. 34:15)  “The Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles.  The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Ps. 34:17-18)

Those who place their trust in Jesus Christ are called the righteous because Jesus Himself is our righteousness.  We are fortunate to have God oversees our lives, and helps us in times of greatest need.[:]
