[:en]YES OR NO TO OUTSIDERS?
There is a common proverb in the remote region of Ghana which says: “Chop time, no friend” which means friends and outsiders are not allowed during mealtime.
However, culture differs in other countries. In the Philippines, when you visit someone during mealtime, the host will invite you to dine with them regardless of whether they have enough for themselves.
Israelites were mistreated and enslaved in Egypt for 400 years (Gen. 15:13, Acts 7:65) . When they left Egypt, God gave instructions for them to love the foreigners residing among them, to give them food and clothing because they themselves were foreigners in Egypt before. (Deut. 10:18-19) 0
