[:en]TRUE REPENTANCE COMES FROM THE HEART

In many cultures, loud weeping, walling and tearing of clothing are ways of lamenting sorrows.

In Old Testament time, a plague of locust devasted the land of Judah.  Joel, the prophet called the people to truly repent to avoid further judgment.  He called for a response from deep inside:   “Rend your heart and not your garments.  Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and He relents from sending calamity” (Joel 2:13).

The Lord wants us to return to Him with all our hearts from the inside.  Let us confess our sins to Him and receive His forgiveness and respond to His merciful call for change because true repentance comes from the heart.  (David Mccasland)[:]
