[:en]Thoughts from Luke 10[:]

[:en]Jesus sent out Seventy-two and told them:  “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.  Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest field” (v. 3).  Are you willing to be sent by the Lord?

An expert of the law asked Jesus:  “And who is my neighbor?” (v. 27)  After Jesus had told him about the parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus asked him:  “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”  The expert in the law replied:  “The one who had mercy on him” .  Then Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise” (vs. 36-37).  We are to show mercy and compassion even to a stranger.

Jesus and His disciples went to the house of Martha and Mary.  As the host, Martha was busy preparing meals for the visitors while Mary just sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said.  Because she was so busy making the preparation of serving them, she came to Jesus and asked him to tell Mary to help her.  But Jesus answered:  “Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed.  Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her” (v. 41-42)

“Have you been so occupied with church activities and neglect to have time of devotion with Jesus?”  For God, it is more important to hear and heed His Word rather than serving Him.”[:]
