[:en]Thoughts from 1 John 3[:]

[:en]As childen of God, we belong to member of God’s family.  We must become more and more like Christ until we see Him face to face.  We must keep pure by being morally straight, free from the corruption of sin.

All of us will still commit sin, but we must not continue to sin and cherish a particular sin.  A believer who commits a sin, but he confesses and repents find forgiveness.  But one who continues to sin without remorse will never receive forgiveness, for such person is in opposition to God.

“No one who lives in Him keeps on sinning, and no one who continues to sin has either seen Him or known Him. (v. 6).  True believers are working to gain victory over sin.   Do not let anyone lead you astray (v. 7).  Do not give the devil a foot hold.  We are “born of God” when the Spirit lives in us and gives us the new life of Jesus.  Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brothers (v. 10)

LOVE ONE ANOTHER (vs. 11-24)

Cain killed his brother when God accepted Abel’s offering and not his.  Cain’s jealousy drove him to murder.  If we live for Christ, the world will often hate us because we make them aware of their immoral way of living.

According to John, “Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer and you know that no omuderer has eternal life in him” (v. 15).  Christianity is a religion of the heart.  Bitterness against someone who wronged you is an evil cancer within you.  Do not let a bitter root grow in you and in your church.

Real love shows in action with selfless sacrificial giving.  It is serving others with no thought of receiving anything in return and putting other’s desires first.

Do not be bothered by our conscience, feeling guilty for not doing enough to show proper love to Christ because God knows our motives and actions.  His assurance is greater than our conscience.

If our conscience is clear, we can come to God without fear and our requests will be heard.  His command is: “Believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another (v. 23)[:]
