[:en]Thoughts from Psalms 25[:]

[:en]The word “shame” appears three times in the first 3 verses: (vs. 1-3)

  1. Do not let me put to shame nor let my enemies triumph over me – applies to himself
  2. No one whose hope is you will ever be put to shame – applies to believers
  3. Those who are treacherous will be put to shame without excuse – applies to the ungodly

David was asking from God 3 things (vs. 4-5)

  1.  Show me your ways
  2. Teach me your paths
  3. Guide me in your truth

David wanted God to remember 2 things – great mercy and love (v. 6)

David wanted God not to remember 2 things – sins of my youth and rebellious ways (v. 7)

David acknowledged God as good and upright who does 3 things (vs. 8-9)

  1. He instructs sinners in his ways
  2. He guides the humble what is right
  3. He teaches them His ways

The Lord remains loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of His covenant  (v. 10).  David humbled himself before the Lord by asking Him to forgive his iniquity.  “He who fears the Lord will receive instruction from Him.  He will be prosperous and his descendants will inherit the land” (v. 13)

Now David was asking God to bring him out of his distresses.  He was lonely and afflicted.  He was experiencing trouble and anguish in his heart.  The hatred of his enemies had increased.  He was turning to the gracious Lord to guard his life and rescue him.  He took refuge in God knowing that his integrity and uprightness will protect him because his hope is in Him. (vs. 16-22)

When you are in times of difficulty and distress, remember that God wants you to get something out of it.  He wants to enlarge your faith and to produce patience that results in its perfect work.  Let your trials help you to grow and enlarge your ministry.[:]
