[:en]DAVID’S REQUEST (vs. 1-5, 9)
- O Lord my Rock, do not turn a deaf ear to me
- Hear my cry for mercy as I call to you for help
- Do not drag me among with the wicked
- Repay them for their deeds and evil work
- Repay them for what they have done
- Bring back upon them what they have done
- Save your people and bless your inheritance
- Be their shepherd and carry them forever.
DAVID’S REJOICING (VS. 6-9)
- The Lord has heard my cry for mercy
- The Lord is my strength and my shield
- My heart trust in Him and I am helped
- My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to Him in song
The word “hands” appears 3 times in this Psalm. The Psalmist lifted up his hands. The enemies were doing evil work with their hands. But God had His hand at work. When David saw his enemies and their evil hands, he lifted up his hands. When the Old Testament Jew prayed, he lifted his hands up to God in praise. When the evil hand of Satan”s crowd is doing defiling work, do not put your hand on their hands or you will be defiled. Lift your holy hands to the Lord and trust Him to work for you. He will tear them down and never build them up. (v. 5)
Do you need help today? God’s hand is at work and the result is praise. Lift your hands to the Lord and trust Him in your heart. For the Lord is your strength and shield and a fortress of salvation. He will hear your cry of mercy and be your shepherd to carry you through.[:]
