[:en]MISTAKES WERE MADE
When God asked Eve why she ate the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, she blamed it to the serpent. When God asked Adam why he took the fruit, he blamed it to Eve. When the people built a golden calf to worship in the desert, Aaron explained to Moses: “The people gave me the gold, and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf” (Exo. 32:24). Aaron took no personal responsibility and shifted the blame to others.
It seems easier to blame someone rather than admitting our own failings. Instead of acknowledging our sin, we just consider it “Just a Mistake”. When we sin, we should take responsibility – acknowdging our sin and confessing it – for God is faithful and just .. He will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). The first step to receiving God’s forgiveness is to admit that we need it. He will offer us forgiveness and restoration. – Cindy Hess Kasper)[:]
