[:en]Thoughts from Psalms 47[:]

[:en]Why did the Psalmist praise God and sing to Him with shouts of joy?

  1. The Lord Most High is awesome (v. 2a)
  2. He is great King over all the earth (vs. 2b, 7)
  3. He subdued nations under them (v. 3)
  4. He has inheritance for them (v. 4)
  5. He has asecended to heaven (v. 5)
  6. He reigns over all the nations (v. 8a)
  7. He is seated on His holy throne (v. 8b)

The psalmist was celebrating for God’s victory over all the nations of the earth.  As believers, we should walk in Christ’s spiritual victory as God always leads us in triumphant procession in Christ. (2 Cor. 2 :14).  He was celebrating his ascension to heaven and his reign in spiritual kingdom.  One day when Christ shall return, His people will reign with Him in etermity.

Are you praising the Lord?  Do you acknowledge Him as the Lord Most High, the King of all the nations, who is sitting at the throne in control of everything?

“Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praise to our King, sing praises” (v. 6)[:]
