[:en]A man with a measuring line was an indication of God’s ownership.  God had promised to rescue Jerusalem.  He will protect, vindicate, and care for His people. “Be still before the Lord, all mankind, because He has roused Himself from His holy dwelling” (v. 13)[:]

[:en]God’s anger was directed against the previous generation, because their forefathers’ sins had brought ruin to the nation.  But the new generation also committed the same sins.  After His discipline, God would show mercy and begin to heal and restore the people.[:]
