[:en]When David became king, he conquered Jerusalem and made Joab the commander in chief.  He restored the city of David and became more powerful because the Lord was with him.  He had mighty fighting men and many warriors who joined him. Are you willing for the Lord to make you qualify to join His army?[:]

[:en]Saul took his life on Mount Gilboa.  His 3 sons also died.  The Philistines took his head and armor and put it in the temple of Dagon.  Valiant men of Jabesh went and took the bodies of Saul and his sons and buried them under the tree.[:]

[:en]The Chronicles were written for the exiles who had returned to Israel after the Babylonian captivity.  These chapters outlined the history from Adam through the death of King Saul.  It reminded them that they were from the royal line of David and were God’s chosen people.
